Research projects in progress

The Centre is currently running the following research projects:

The Academy of IT Standards

The purpose of “Akademia Standardów IT” (The Academy of IT Standards) project is to promote good practices in the broader IT area in Polish organizations. These practices have been codified as norms and standards. An e-learning platform has been created in the framework of the project. It enables to obtain practical knowledge about verified and effective methods of building enterprise architecture, conducting business analysis, modeling and optimalisation of business processes, and documenting the demand for IT systems.

Smart Cities Methodical Aspects of Construction

The goal of the “Smart Cities Methodical Aspects of Construction” project is the development and free distribution of the Smart City Reference Model. This model will be based on the concept of Enterprise Architecture, adapted to the characteristics of Polish cities. It will cover both the organizational and technological aspects of Smart City. In addition, the website InteligentneMiasta.pl has been created and is being developed as part of the project.

Build a platform to monitor a status of Digital Transformation of the Polish public sector units

For purposes of the project “Build a platform to monitor a status of Digital Transformation of the Polish public sector units” we have created and have been developing the website “eGov.pl – Observatory for Digital Government“. Its objective is to monitor and analyze progress in realizing the idea of Digital Government in practice in Poland (but taking into account the European and global context). Information given on the website comes from publicly available sources – from public administration units, research centres, universities as well as from studies being carried out in the Centre.

Develop methods and tools to improve performance of IT departments in public sector units

For purposes of the project “Develop methods and tools to improve performance of IT departments in public sector units” we develop managing instruments which are intended for extending capabilities of IT departments so that they are ready for Digital Transformation challenges.

In particular, we have created and have been developing “Model of improving performance of IT departments in public sector units” through which it is possible to evaluate an IT department against its effectiveness and to help to plan optimization measures based on recognized IT management standards (TOGAF, MSP, Prince 2, Agile methods).
